GIRO

GIRO is a spherical saving box - a minimalist desktop item as well as an intriguing gadget, both for children and grown-ups. Two identical bowls are joined invisibly and flexibly with magnets. A circular slot remains open to insert money. The magnets allow the two hemispheres to open and close slightly to let money in but not out. To rob the coin bank both halves of the globe have to be pulled apart with gentle power.

LIVING IN A BOX

Photoprints on birchwood disclose the inhabitants of these storage boxes – and give a reference, what to put in there. Documents belong to the secretary, photos will be recieved by the gallery owner and the warehouse man will take care of all the bits and pieces tending to lounge around everywhere.

BUCK

Four years ago, the corked buckets were shown at the Designmai Berlin for the first time. Now they are in production!
In slightly different shape, two sizes and different colours they are still serving as a seat or a small table with additional storage space – to be used in the childrens room as well as in the kitchen, the living room or on the balcony.

A pair of BUCKS – exclusively produced in two special colours – were chosen to be episode No.9 of the SÜDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG MAGAZIN DESIGNEDITION.

UPSIDEDOWN

In 2005, UPSIDEDOWN – a fusion of kitchen desk and work bench, hiding tools underneath its surface – won the first price at a design competition announced by ALNO. Refined to a flexible working tool it became part of the ALNO MY WAY COLLECTION.
The basic concept was developed in the context of a university project dealing with furniture mutations for an aging society.
